Come along to a foraging course in Worthing, Chichester, Arundel, Littlehampton, Hove, Brighton & other Sussex locations to learn about the wonders of wild food. You'll discover what edible ingredients can be found right on your doorstep, how to safely and sustainably harvest them and of course, see just how tasty they can be!

Fern holds regular Foraging courses in Sussex throughout the year. Sussex is an incredible place for wild food and we're lucky to be surrounded by some of the most flavoursome, exciting ingredients. ​Being from Sussex and having been absorbed in local folklore throughout her childhood, Ferns foraging walks often include an element of folklore: whether it be local tales and legends or old local methods for using the native plants that surround us.

Our foraging workshops are run seasonally and what's on offer differs throughout the year. Please explore each season to see out full range of foraging workshops and events! 

As the weather gets warmer, fresh spring greens start emerging, the tree sap rises and wildflowers bloom! In Spring you’ll learn how to make the most of this fresh, bountiful produce.

 

When the sun is shining, it’s time for new adventures! Join us for summer feasts, wild pizza workshops and woodland workshops. Think wild strawberries, elderflower fritters and a glass of something fizzy.

 

Autumn events are all about wild mushrooms, nuts and berries! Learn how to safely identify and gather a huge range of autumn edibles and enjoy them cooked up over a campfire.

Winter brings wonderful and surprising gifts, like medicinal mushrooms, wild root vegetables and native spices to stock your wild food larder! Join us for a ramble and a hot cup of something wild.

WHY FORAGE IN WORTHING?

We are so lucky to be surrounded by so much incredible, wild produce in Worthing and the rest of Sussex. While foraging events are held throughout Sussex, including in Chichester, Arundel, Hove and Brighton, the majority will be held in Worthing. This is where Fern grew up and learned to forage. She is passionate about Worthing legend and folklore, and bringing her community closer to nature.
