In this extra special workshop, Fern will be teaming up with a local truffle expert and his furry, truffle loving friends! We’ll be scouring the South Downs (just 2 hours from London) as we embark on one of the most exciting foraging experiences out there: truffle hunting! In this workshop, we'll be meeting at a secret location near Chichester where you will learn the basics of truffle hunting. Which environments truffles flourish in and which trees they grow alongside, how you might train your own dog to smell them out for you, how you might even find them without a dog, and how to work with dogs in the field to locate them and harvest them sustainably. After spending some time with your new furry friends, and learning how they're trying to tell you they've found some buried treasure, you'll get to try your hand at truffle hunting! We'll then settle down to learn how to prep our truffles and how to make the most of them in the kitchen and share a delicious lunch where we'll eat some wonderful truffle dishes, including a cultured truffle butter, delicious cake smothered with truffle honey, and plenty of freshly shaved truffle! 2024 DATES: Saturday 7th December 2024 @ 11am - 3.00pm Sunday 8th December 2024 @ 11am - 3.00pm Saturday 14th December 2024 @ 11am - 3.00pm Sunday 15th December 2024 @ 11am - 3.00pm BOOKINGS: ADULT - £150 Please note: This is an adult only workshop. We cannot allow additional dogs as they may distract our hard working truffle hunting friends. The walk will be slow-paced, but uphill in areas, through woodland. Please wear weather appropriate clothes, sturdy shoes and water to keep yourself hydrated! We are happy to cater for Vegan diets, however we are unable to fully cater for Gluten free/ Coeliac diets on this public workshop.
