EVENT INFORMATION
2026 Sessions: Saturday 3rd October • 10am–1pm [+4 SPACES LEFT] Saturday 17th October • 10am–1pm [+4 SPACES LEFT] Booking your place: Click ‘Book Now’, find your chosen date in the calendar, select the time slot and continue. If a session isn’t showing, it’s fully booked. Discover the hidden treasures of the woodland with this hands-on mushroom foraging workshop. Autumn brings the richest bounty of fungi: from golden chanterelles to giant puffballs and elusive porcini, the forest is full of edible and medicinal mushrooms waiting to be found. Over three hours, we’ll guide you in safely identifying the most delicious and useful wild mushrooms, sharing their folklore, culinary uses, and tips for sustainable harvesting. You’ll gather small samples as we explore shaded woodlands, mossy paths, and quiet clearings — the walk is slow-paced but includes some gentle uphill stretches. The workshop finishes with a seasonal picnic, enjoying some of the mushrooms we’ve discovered together, and giving time for questions, stories, and sharing tips with fellow foragers. Our goal is to leave you confident and inspired, ready to forage wild mushrooms on your own. After the session, you’ll receive a PDF summarising everything we covered — perfect to guide your future mushroom hunting adventures. This workshop will take place within the area between Horsham and Hove. Full workshop details, including the meeting location, will be emailed 2 weeks before the event. If you’d like to know more in the meantime, feel free to get in touch! Please wear sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing. Feel free to bring a small basket for samples, plus a notebook or camera to help you remember everything. We can happily cater for vegan diets, but unfortunately we’re unable to fully cater for gluten-free/coeliac diets on public workshops. Please note: On the rare occasion Fern cannot host, the workshop will be led by a trusted member of her experienced foraging team.
