A guided foraging walk focusing on the bounty of Autumn ingredients!
EVENT INFORMATION
2026 Sessions: Saturday 12th September • 10am–1pm [+4 SPACES LEFT] Booking your place: Click ‘Book Now’, find your chosen date in the calendar, select the time slot and continue. If a session isn’t showing, it’s fully booked. Discover the bounty of Autumn with a hands-on foraging workshop that immerses you in the season’s abundance. Autumn is a magical time in the foraging calendar: nuts, berries, mushrooms, and late-season herbs are all at their peak, ready to be turned into teas, preserves, remedies, and hearty seasonal dishes. During this three-hour walk, we’ll explore how to safely and confidently identify the most useful and delicious autumnal plants and mushrooms, while sharing their history, folklore, and traditional uses. You’ll gather small samples along the way, enjoying a slow, mindful walk through woodlands, hedgerows, and fields — some gentle uphill sections included. We’ll finish with a seasonal picnic lunch, savouring flavours inspired by the foraged ingredients we’ve discovered together, and taking time to chat, ask questions, and soak in the crisp autumn atmosphere. Our workshops aim to leave you inspired and fully confident to forage your own handful of wild autumn ingredients. After the session, you’ll receive a PDF with notes from the day, helping you continue your seasonal foraging adventures long after the workshop ends. This workshop will take place within the South Somerset area. Full workshop details, including the meeting location, will be emailed 2 weeks before the event. If you’d like to know more in the meantime, feel free to get in touch! Please wear sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing. Feel free to bring a small basket for samples, plus a notebook or camera to help you remember everything. We can happily cater for vegan diets, but unfortunately we’re unable to fully cater for gluten-free/coeliac diets on public workshops. . Please note: On the rare occasion Fern cannot host, the workshop will be led by a trusted member of her experienced foraging team.
