LATE SUMMER FORAGE & LUNCH

EVENT INFORMATION:

As we enter later summer, the wildflowers are high and the fields are abundant with wild medicines, berries, and herbs. And, as some of the wildflowers begin to go to seed, we can also start collecting an array of wild spices to flavour our dishes! These native spices are always surprising and delightful. What an amazing way to taste the flavours our ancestors would have been so used to!

Our late summer foraging day will be focused on introducing you to edible, medicinal and poisonous plants that can be found in Sussex during late summer. You'll be shown how to identify these plants and will learn about their history and how they can be used today.

After our guided foraging walk, we'll settle down to a wild food picnic, where you will get the chance to try some of the ingredients we've found in some delicious dishes!

BOOKINGS:

Children are more than welcome to come along and enjoy the day! Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times.

The walk will be slow-paced, over the hills and through some woodland. Please wear weather appropriate clothes, bring a bottle of water and feel free to bring a little basket to gather a few samples, and a notebook or camera to help you remember all the information!

The location and details of where to meet will be emailed to you upon payment. The location will be no more than a 30-minute drive outside of the Worthing area and lift-share from Worthing may be available.
