WILD MUSHROOM WORKSHOP

EVENT INFORMATION:

Join us for a few hours of happy rambling, learning about edible, nutritious and medicinal mushrooms that grow right on our doorstep.

We'll start with an introduction on foraging for mushrooms, covering the law and sustainable foraging practices.

On our walk, we'll learn how to safely identify mushrooms and other fungi, how to forage sustainably and the most interesting ways to use our foraged finds!

I'll also be introducing some poisonous mushrooms, showing how to identify them to make your future foraging experiences safer (this is really great to learn for outdoorsy little ones!).

At the end of our walk, we'll be cooking up some of the edible mushrooms we find and also trying some medicinal mushroom tea!

BOOKINGS:

Children are more than welcome to come along and enjoy the day! Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times.

The walk will be slow-paced, but uphill in areas, over fields, and through woodland. Please wear weather appropriate clothes, sturdy shoes and feel free to bring a little basket to gather a few samples, and a notebook or camera to help you remember all the information!
