AUTUMN FORAGE: NUTS, BERRIES & MUSHROOMS

EVENT INFORMATION:

There is so much to forage for in autumn. The woodland truly comes alive with some fantastically flavoured fruits and funghi! Foraging walks really tend to hone in on wild mushrooms this time of year, but this workshop is about exploring the diversity of foods available to us in autumn.

We'll meet a range of plants including hedgerow fruits, herbs and nuts. We'll also dip our toes into the world of mushrooms and have a small introduction on how to incorporate them into your diet!

On our walk, we'll learn how to safely and sustainably harvest wild foods, as well as learning about the history and folklore surrounding them! The aim of the day is to help you become competent to forage your own wild foods in your own time.

To finish, we'll settle down to a campfire lunch, to try some of the unique and interesting flavours of the wonderful ingredients we've harvested.

BOOKINGS:

Children are more than welcome to come along and enjoy the day! Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times.

The walk will be slow-paced, over the hills and through woodland. Please wear weather appropriate clothes, bring a bottle of water and feel free to bring a little basket to gather a few samples, and a notebook or camera to help you remember all the information!

The location and details of where to meet will be emailed to you upon payment. The location will be no more than a 30-minute drive outside of the Worthing area and lift-share from Worthing may be available.
